Social Football Australia ("SFA", "we", "us") runs weekly social football games, this website and app, and a franchise network. We handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what we collect, why, who receives it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Social Football Australia, ABN 67 211 240 431. For anything about your privacy, email info@socialfootballaustralia.com or call 0426177152.
What we collect
Only what we need for the thing you're doing. Depending on how you deal with us, that can be:
- Messages and enquiries: what you send through our contact form or "register your interest" form (your name, email, phone and message, or where you'd like to play), and anything you email or text us.
- Franchise enquiries: your name, mobile, email, the area you'd like to run and your suburb or postcode, whether you have funds available to invest, your football background, how and when you'd like to start, and which ad or website brought you to us.
- Using the website: technical information such as your device and browser, the pages you visit and how you arrived (for example, from an ad). To stop forms being abused, we briefly keep a scrambled version of your internet connection's address that can't be turned back into the address.
You don't have to give us your information, but without it we may not be able to take your booking or answer your enquiry.
How we collect it
Mostly from you, when you:
- book a game or buy a pack through our booking pages or our app
- fill in a form on this website
- fill in one of our lead forms on Facebook, Instagram or Google
- book a call with us through our online calendar (Calendly)
- email, call or message us, or come to one of our games
Bookings and payments are made through Vagaro, which collects your details on our behalf under its own privacy policy. Some information is collected automatically through cookies and similar tools (see Cookies, analytics and advertising).
Why we use it
- to run games: take bookings and payments, put balanced teams together, send confirmations and reminders, and tell you about changes or cancellations
- to manage your account, refunds and credits, and answer your questions
- to respond to franchise enquiries, work out whether a territory suits you, and arrange a call
- to send you news and offers, if you've agreed to them
- to understand how our website is used, and to show and measure our advertising
- to keep games safe and fair, and to meet our legal obligations
We don't sell your personal information.
Who receives it
Only the people and services that need it to do the job:
- Our staff and game coordinators, for the games they run.
- Our franchise partners, for the games at the venues they run.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website and its database and sends our emails.
- Vagaro, which takes our bookings and payments.
- Google, for our email inbox and for keeping track of franchise enquiries, and Calendly, for booking calls.
- Google and Meta (Facebook and Instagram), for analytics and advertising (see below), and the marketing agency that runs our advertising for us.
- Our professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, and government bodies where the law requires it.
Our service providers may use your information only to provide their services to us.
Overseas
Our database is kept in Cloudflare's Oceania region. Some of the services above store or process information outside Australia, mainly in the United States: Vagaro, Google, Meta and Calendly, as well as Cloudflare's worldwide network that delivers the website. We use established providers and take reasonable steps to make sure they protect your information.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
This website doesn't set any cookies of its own, but the tools below do.
We use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics, the Google Ads tag and the Meta Pixel. They help us understand how the site is used, and show and measure our ads on Google, Facebook and Instagram, including to people who've visited before.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also manage your ad preferences with Google and Meta, and opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out add-on.
Marketing messages
We'll only send you marketing emails or texts if you've agreed to them or would reasonably expect them, and each one has an easy way to unsubscribe. You can also ask us to stop at any time. You'll still get messages about your bookings and account.
Photos and video at games
We sometimes take photos and video at games and use them on our website, app, social media and ads. If you'd rather not appear, tell the coordinator on the night or email us, and we'll leave you out or take the content down where we can.
Players under 18
Our games are for adults aged 18 and over, and players confirm their age when they book. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If we run junior football in future, we'll deal with a parent or guardian and update this policy first.
Keeping it safe, and for how long
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Access is limited to the people who need it, and our providers use secure, encrypted systems. We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires (for example, payment records for tax), then delete or de-identify it.
Seeing and correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us. We'll respond within 30 days. If we can't do what you ask, we'll explain why.
Questions and complaints
If you're worried about how we've handled your information, contact us at info@socialfootballaustralia.com or on 0426177152. We'll look into it and reply within 30 days. If you're not happy with our reply, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when what we collect or who receives it changes. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
